Derek Reading is an alumni of NSAA (class of 2012) who now teaches middle school math and high school algebra 1-2. He graduated from Arizona State University with a BAE in Elementary Education. Before his time at ASU, he attended Scottsdale Community College where he had the opportunity to be a researcher for Arizona Mathematics Partnership (AMP), an NSF funded five-year project where Maricopa Community College professors provided professional development for middle school math teachers. Mr. Reading’s philosophy on teaching math stems heavily from AMP’s philosophy that math is not about remembering tricks and algorithms; it is about understanding where mathematical processes come from and exploring reasoning through communication. This will be Mr. Reading’s first year teaching at NSAA.

Pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.02, NSAA High School and Middle School hereby states that all notices of the meetings of NSAA High School and Middle School will be posted on the bulletin board in the main building of the school for announcements and on our website calendar. The location is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Such notices will indicate the date, time, and place of the meeting and will include an agenda or information concerning the manner in which the public may obtain an agenda for the meeting
